Letter to the Skagit Valley Herald, written by Dana Rust (owner of the Edison Eye Gallery)... to quote Dana: In the letter I speak of this country needing to 'make peace' rather than war. After consideration I thought: 'Is this possible? Who is going to do this?' and I thought that the only real humans who can start this process are the artists. Hence, this exhibit. Now I realize that this is quite schmaltzy, but we're going to do it anyway...

Dear Sirs,

Marty McNett, this is my response to you, as you requested in our argument at the Cafe the other day. There are three reasons for this war: George W. Bush (and his cadres') use of Empirical Power. Oil: which runs this Power. And perhaps the most diabolical: Vengenance.

Vengenance begets vengenance on both sides of an issue. Anger is created. Ultimately this anger fuels the terrorists. The whole world's psychology is affected.

If Bush (and his cadre) had not made the decision (based on the outright lie, WMD) some hundreds of thousands of people, killed or maimed by their decision (400,000, plus and counting) would likely be here today. The is not insignificant. These are people who have children like yours and mine. How would we feel? How would our families feel if they were affected by something like this? The United States, as far as I know, has never instigated war on another country. It's not in our persona. We are not Genghis Kahn! This is not the Crusades! It is nine hundred years later than the Crusades. It's not the same world. We need to thin globally. Instead of making war we need to be known for making peace.

Mr. Bush (and his cadres') record on how we a country treat this Earth that we live on and his record on how we treat the Poor, are equally as heinous as this despicable war. But that deserves other letters.

I think it is bad luck (since we are saddled with this Tyrant) that we don't have a smart one.

This said, Marty, I think you have to ask the questions: Who would Jesus bomb? Who would Mohammed bomb?

My guess is no one.
