summer softly left,
from utsalady bay

the wind's gentle rain,
drove the tourists away

we know of the danger ahead
but we stay

when the vampires return
to spread their decay

a hawks steadfast sentry
of the port susan sky

as triton patrol
the bay's passers-by

i aknowledge with strangers
dead in the eye

as the vampires return
for the winter is nye

a precedence of minion
'neath a duvet of fog

dredge a network sarcofagi
in the steamy slough bog

They then mark each gravesite
with fir driftwood logs

to accomodate cadaevors
who'll rot there like dogs

we head home at dusk
and stay 'til the dawn

they reign in the night
and they feast and they spawn

secure in our fortress
unless we invite

the one's who we fear
who bloodlust in the night

i stand in the dark
at the edge of my deck

and wish for a lover
to feast from my neck

my life now half over
i can't afford to ignore

so i seek out night's children
to supply me with more

then i think i hear something
and look toward the skies

a figure descending
with bloodthirsty eyes

fear overcomes me
i bolt for the door

and lock it behind me
to dream immortal no more

so i close fast the curtains
and i sneak off to bed

I keep grandma's rosary
close to my head

so heed me this warning
for at dusk they take flight

and no one survives
the vampire's bite.
